The Equity in Doctoral Education Partnership and Innovation (EDEPI) team is inviting you to take part in a research study which seeks to explore the awareness, attitudes and practices related to postgraduate research study amongst doctoral students and staff.

About the Competency-Based Admissions Framework for Doctoral Education

The Competency-Based Admissions Framework is one outcome of the Office for Students/Research England funded project, Equity in Doctoral Education through Partnership and Innovation (EDEPI), led by Nottingham Trent University in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores and Sheffield Hallam Universities.

About this survey

We would like to know whether you think this framework captures what is looked for in potential doctoral candidates. We are particularly interested in your thoughts regarding the wording and clarity of the document, whether it is sufficiently inclusive and finally how difficult you think it would be to incorporate this framework into your policies and processes.

We are collecting demographic data on respondents to assess whether there may be differences in how this framework is interpreted by people from different backgrounds.

Survey Consent Form

1.1. I confirm I am 18 years of age or over. Required
2.2. I confirm that I have read and understood the information sheet for the Equity in Doctoral Education through Partnership and Innovation Programme. I have had the opportunity to consider the information, ask questions and have had these answered satisfactorily. Required
3.3. I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I can withdraw from the project up to 7 days after I take part in this study. I do not have to give any reasons for why I no longer want to take part, and there will be no adverse consequences if I choose to withdraw. Required
4.4. I understand that data collected during this study will be processed in accordance with data protection law as explained in the Participant Information Sheet. Required
5.5. I understand that anonymised information may be used in future research from EDEPI and that it will not be possible to identify either myself or my organisation. Required
